History of the Port de Grave Pentecostal Tabernacle

The Pentecostal message was introduced to Port de grave when believers in Clarke's Beach began praying for our community. In the summer of 1924, Isreal Marshall, along with Albert Dawe held open air meetings near the fisherman's wharf. to read more click here

New Pentecostal Cemetery

We began using this cemetery in the early 70's, it is now located just a minute from the church and has in the recent years been extended to be a very large plot of land, over the coming months we will be in the process of reconditioning the land and property there in, making the cemetery more beautiful and accesible.

The First Pentecostal Cemetery

In the early days of the mission, it was very difficult to obtain land for a cemetery. After some time and much looking a piece of land was purchased on the lighthouse road. On January 27, 1931 it became the buriel place for the Pentecostal Assembly. This cemetery became unusable due to poor water run off from the land, so the church board and congretation decided to begin a new cemetery on the Harbour Hills.

Many of those interred at this cemetery are without headstone at present, we are in the process in the very near future trying our best to mark those plots. The cemetery had approx. 60 funerals, an ancestory of the church, whom were valued and appreciated for the remarkable lives they lived.

The old cemetery is well maintained, keeping it freshly mowed, trimmed and clean, during the summer months. It is easily accessible on the lighthouse road
